Treatment of Periodontal Disease in Humble Tx

There are several ways to treat periodontal disease. The traditional method of treatment involves cutting the gums in the areas where the “pockets” are located in order to expose the root and make the area accessible to scoop out the infection and scrape the hardened plaque off the tooth roots and from around the bone. As you can imagine, depending on how widespread the infection is, this involves cutting, stitching and an extended healing process.

Laser treatment of gum disease does not involve cutting open any of your gum tissue to access the infected areas. Because of this, your gums may be sore but most patients do not consider it to be “painful.”
